Memorial Day

We were blessed with the nicest weather on Memorial day, it was fantastic out! We had a little cookout with friends and had a great time just being outside and enjoying the cool weather. The girls had a huge watergun fight which was hilarious and fun to watch. They both ended up soaking themselves and then they were cold so they cuddled up together and had watermelon. It was a really good time. Earlier in the morning Gelsey was trying to sneak up and catch the birds at our bird feeder it was too funny to watch her when she didn't think anyone was watching. We also finally put up a birdhouse my dad made for the girls, it is really cute.

Schools Out!!

School's out for the summer!! and the girls couldn't be happier! Gelsey was clearly more enthusiastic than Jillian!! Jill said she is actually a little sad and is going to miss school. That really isn't surprising considering how much she likes school and how well she does. Jillian was on the principles list and honor roll all year long, GREAT JOB JILL!! They are really looking forward to all we have planned for the summer.

Lemonade

All of the first graders at the girls school put on a musical called lemonade. Gelsey was picked to sing a small solo in one of the songs, she also got to play an instrument in a different song as well. It was fantastic!! Their music teacher deserves an award, she was able to teach 150 first graders an 8 song musical with additional dialogue and it went off without a hitch, WOW!!! This video was filmed from kind of far off so it is a little ahard to see her but you can still hear Gelsey singing.

Gone Fishin

We finally took advantage of the community park and went fishing. While we were there Josh and I couldn't believe we have lived here for over 2 years and we had never gone fishing before. We are so blessed to live in such an amazing place, we both agreed it is quite pleasantville esque. We all had the best time! We were using hot dogs for bait which was pretty funny, the girls kept on eating the bait. The girls learned how to cast all by themselves which was great because it gave them the chance to fish without any help. We saw quite a few really big fish but we didn't catch any. We didn't care, we all agreed we had a great time anyway and we will be going back very soon!!

Gelseys seventh birthday

Well Gelsey turned seven. She had a GREAT birthday!! She selected to have a sushi dinner on her birthday night which was a lot of fun. She got to take cookies to school for her whole class. She also had several friends spend the night to CELEBRATE!! Gelsey was very fired up to get a webkinz cat she has been wanting a webkin for a while. She also didn't want a birthday cake so we put a candle in her pizza and sang Happy Birthday to her that way, ha ha. Gelsey has always marched to a different drummer that's one of the things I love so much about her!!

Horses and Cooking

Jillian is really coming along with her horseback riding lessons. She started trotting for the first time this past weekend. It is a lot of fun sitting watching her be the boss of such a large animal.

Gelsey is following in her mothers footsteps and becoming quite a little chef! We watched the Disney movie Ratatoullie and Gelsey wanted to try to come up with a recipe for ratatoullie herself. We did our best and it turned out GREAT!!

Day at the Zoo

We were all so happy because it was a rare overcast day here in the scorching sun state and we decided to take advantage of it by going to the Phoenix zoo for the first time since we've lived here. We all had a BLAST but at the end of the day we were sooo tired we just crashed!

The escape of a very colorful GIANT frog : )

Jillian has good old fun on the farm driving an antique tractor. The zoo has a great kids area with farm equipment and a petting zoo.

The girls both had a great time petting the goats although they were pickpockets and kept trying to take stuff out of Josh's pocket.
